Faeries (also spelled fairies) are the group of magic people most resembling humans. They are kind, fun-loving and easy-going, get on well with children particularly (we know of many a fairy godmother; and why else would children’s favourite tales be called “fairy tales”?); they also interact with people regularly – or used to, until these idyllic conditions were interrupted a few hundred years ago.

Together with witches and wizards, faeries have the strongest magical powers amongst the magic people, they are shape-changers, they can fly, can make themselves invisible and much more. With very few exceptions they use their extensive powers only for good. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that they tend to be exceptional healers. Recognising symptoms and correctly treating rare diseases are just some of their outstanding talents.
